Prompting 101
Learn how to write prompts that get great results from XO.
Great software starts with great prompts. Here's how to write ones that work well with XO.
Prompt Structure
Start with a clear goal:
"Build a dashboard that tracks ETH price in real time."
Add helpful context:
- "Use React and Tailwind"
- "Mobile-friendly UI"
- "Include wallet connect"
Use these formats:
- "Build a [type of app] that [does X]"
- "Create a [feature/module] with [specific tech or design]"
- "Convert this screenshot into responsive UI code"
Tips for Better Prompting
Keep it simple but complete. One clear sentence beats a wall of text.
Use checklists. For example: "Include navbar, chart, table."
Include links or screenshots. Visual references dramatically improve design output.
Iterate with follow-ups. After the initial build, refine with prompts like "Now add dark mode" or "Make the chart interactive."
The more the system understands your intention, the better the output. Think like you're briefing your smartest developer.
