Connect Codex
Authenticate XO agents with an OpenAI Codex subscription via OAuth.
Connect your OpenAI Codex subscription to an XO agent via OAuth — no API key required. This flow is shared across any agent that exposes a Connect Codex button (OpenClaw, future agents).
What You'll Need
- An XO project that has finished provisioning
- An OpenAI account with a Codex subscription
Connect Your Codex Account
Open the Authorization Page
In the Connect Codex modal, click Open authorization page. A new browser tab opens with the OpenAI sign-in.
Sign In to OpenAI
Choose Continue with Google, or sign in with your preferred method.
If you have multiple Google accounts, click Use another account and choose the one tied to your Codex subscription.
Enter your email address and press Enter.
Verify Your Identity
OpenAI may ask you to verify your identity. Choose your preferred verification method.
Select Email to receive a verification code by email.
Enter the code OpenAI sends you and click Continue.
Confirm and Close
If a connection error appears, click Try again.
Once the connection is confirmed, close the setup modal.
Your Codex subscription is now connected. Your agent will use it for all model calls.
